Powerful Partnerships Community Hubs

Powerful Partnerships is the only independent citizen advocacy organisation covering all of Edinburgh. Our primary purpose is to give people with learning disabilities a strong voice in decision-making. Citizen advocates empower people with learning difficulties to choose their own roles in society and to help them, wherever possible, to connect with their local communities.

A citizen advocate is an ordinary member of the public who wishes to be included in the life of someone labelled as having a learning disability. Advocates help to improve the quality of their advocacy partners' lives by standing alongside them, helping them to speak up or speaking on their behalf when necessary. Advocates help people with learning disabilities to be seen and to be included in their communities and in everyday life.
